In this sculptural series, this work delves deeply into human hands’ emotional and symbolic significance. Through the medium of sculpture, she captures hands in various states—from tense, clenched fists to open, relaxed poses—each meticulously moulded and cast in beeswax and pigment. These sculptures are powerful expressions of the emotional journey through grief, healing, and resilience. She uses repetition as a therapeutic tool, crafting a collection that soothes the creator and invites viewers into a contemplative space.

The gestures frozen in wax articulate the dynamic between holding on and letting go, reflecting the universal struggle with intangible losses. Each sculpture is a testament to art’s cathartic power in processing emotions and transforming grief into an acknowledgment of human strength and capability. By presenting these hand forms, Janecek encourages a dialogue that transcends the tangible, engaging viewers on a profound, emotional level, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and hands emerge as silent yet eloquent storytellers of the human experience.
