What have I done

"What Have I Done" is a series of paintings that beautifully captures human hands' intricate emotions and textures. Each painting depicts gestures that convey both tension and tranquillity with great detail. Through her repetitive technique, the artist Janecek has refined her art and found therapeutic value. She invites viewers to explore the narratives our hands tell, which are stories of struggle, resilience, and release. This series delves deeply into the universal acts of grasping and letting go and invites viewers to engage with the emotional landscapes of the human experience on a profound level.

We Are Not People

This art series challenges traditional concepts of identity and representation by combining artificially generated black-and-white images with one-line ink drawings. This prompts viewers to question their perception of self and reality. The work merges AI technology with human drawing, creating a dialogue between the two realms. Despite the ethical concerns surrounding the impact of AI, the artist navigates these complexities to explore positive engagement within the artistic community. The work is infused with humanistic qualities and interdisciplinary experimentation.

What I have done

Alex Janecek's sculptural series captures the emotional and symbolic essence of human hands through meticulously molded sculptures made of beeswax and pigment. Each piece, from clenched fists to relaxed hands, expresses the emotional journey of grief, healing, and resilience. The sculptures use repetition as a therapeutic process, inviting viewers on a reflective journey that highlights the dynamics of grasping and releasing. They stand as powerful symbols of art's ability to transform emotion, encouraging a profound engagement that elevates ordinary hands into eloquent storytellers of the human condition.
